What makes Saudi payroll different
A salary in the Kingdom is not a single number: there is the basic wage plus housing, transport and other allowances; GOSI social-insurance contributions that differ between Saudi and non-Saudi employees; the WPS wage-protection file uploaded monthly in a defined format through the Mudad platform, where any error means rejection; and end-of-service benefits calculated under labor law by length of service and reason for termination. Add Saudization (Nitaqat) tracking and iqama, passport and work-permit expiries.
How Odoo covers these requirements
Odoo Enterprise provides a Saudi payroll localization with the salary structure and allowances, GOSI contribution rules, WPS file generation and end-of-service provisions, alongside attendance, time off, expenses and an employee self-service portal. In Odoo 19, contract data became part of the employee record (hr.version), which simplifies tracking the history of salary and position changes.
What we add on top of standard
We customize only where no standard option exists — a rule that protects your project from upgrade cost later. What we typically add:
- End-of-service calculations for the different labor-law cases, with monthly provision reports.
- Employee loans with deduction schedules, Nitaqat tracking and document-expiry alerts.
- Bilingual printed reports: payslip, salary certificate, payroll register.
- Specific integrations with attendance systems or biometric devices where needed.
A typical implementation journey
We start from a real payroll of a previous month: enter employees, contracts and allowances, run payroll in Odoo, and reconcile the results figure by figure against what you actually paid. Once the numbers match — including GOSI contributions and the WPS file — we move to live operation. This parallel run is the best insurance against surprises on the first payroll on the new system.
