Why biometric devices are not enough

A biometric device serves one office. A contractor with ten sites, a distributor with reps on the road, a maintenance company with technicians at customers — their attendance is captured by a call, a WhatsApp message or a paper sheet the supervisor collects, then keyed into payroll at month-end, with all the errors and arguments that brings.

How it works

• Employees check in and out from their phone; the system records location and time.
• A geofence per work site: check-ins outside it are flagged for supervisor review.
• Shifts and schedules per site and project, with lateness, early leave and overtime calculated automatically.
• Leave and permission requests from the same app, approved by the line manager.
• A supervisor dashboard showing who is present at each site today, who is late and who is absent — live.

The payroll link: this is the real difference

Attendance data is not exported to a file and keyed in; it is already in Odoo. Payroll reads attendance, absence and overtime directly, applies salary rules, and produces GOSI contributions and the WPS file — from verified attendance, not a compiled sheet.

For contractors specifically: each employee's hours are charged to the project they attended, so actual labour cost per project appears without estimated allocation.
